Inclusive materials
Sundial can support local authorities, charities and abuse services with the creation of inclusive materials to reach diverse communities. Our in-house team can review, audit and suggest improvements for your communication and information-based materials such as workshop plans and handouts, web content or policy documents.
We can ensure your materials are suitable and user-friendly for service users and practitioners from a multi-lensed and intersectional perspective. We can also carry out desktop research to develop bespoke toolkits, resource banks and website content, provide research expertise for evidence-gathering or impact assessment and evaluate training, research or change projects.
This consultancy offering was born following requests from partners for our specialist team to review their resources from diverse perspectives so that they are culturally sensitive, gender-appropriate and user-friendly for all ages and abilities. Our team currently represents thirteen different cultural groups and has specialisations in a wide range of issues. These include gender, abuse, health, equality and diversity. Alongside our diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds, we also bring a wealth of practitioner and academic experience.
It has been great to work with Sundial, who undertook a thorough review of our DA service’s web-based information to highlight best practice and provide us with practical suggestions to meet the needs of those in our community with language or communication barriers. They also identified a range of existing DA resources for us to draw on. Their team were very receptive to working together, fully exploring our aims and regularly checking in.

The team at Sundial worked with us to carry out a review of some of the material we use in our work in schools with SafeStories from an ethnically diverse perspective. It was really helpful to have an independent and expert board review the material that we had put together with a mind to diversity and inclusivity. They produced a helpful review document that identified areas of good practice and areas for reflection and improvement. We would definitely consider consulting them with the development of any of our future material.
